Micronesia Islands Fair

October 20, 2010

Last weekend, John and I went to the Micronesia Islands Fair. If you find yourself in Guam in mid-October some year, it’s worth a visit. We bought some Marshallese tchotchkes and saw traditional dancers from Kosrae.

It was held at Ypao beach park, which is a really beautiful spot on the coast in Tumon.

I saw a gourd hat!

Also a coconut crab!

Our festival-drinks-to-go were very refreshing in the heat, but they did not design the 1998 Corolla with this in mind:

Hopefully the newer models have coconut holders. I can’t believe it took me two months to drink fresh coconut water. It’s pretty much the best thing ever.

I want to move to Guam. And when I get there I am going to eat that Coconut Crab and wash him down with some coconut water.
